Dear Friends in Christ:

Welcome to the Newman Catholic Student Center, your Catholic parish at NIU. I hope that you’ll come to know the Newman Center as your spiritual home away from home: a place to pray, study, connect with others, and grow in your faith.

As an alumnus of NIU, I remember how important Newman was to me as a student, whenever the pressures of school became too much, or relationships did not work out the way I’d hoped, or the difficulty of life away from home became overwhelming. As your pastor, I hope to continue in Newman’s welcoming tradition that has helped so many in the university community to know Christ’s presence and His peace.

No matter what stage you’re at in your spiritual journey, you’ll find that we at Newman try to live out a spirit of acceptance and encouragement to all who are seeking to grow. There are many ways to get involved in the life of the parish community and to have fun while you’re doing it!  I encourage you to explore the pages of our website to see where the Lord is calling you.
