Evangelization & Enrichment

We are called to continue to grow in our faith as well as share what we believe with others. If you are looking for ways to connect with other people or grow in your relationship with God, perhaps one of the following would be for you.

+Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) - the process by which adults are welcomed into full communion with the Catholic church through baptism, eucharist, and/or confirmation. Opportunities are available for students and parishioners to sponsor those being initiated. For more information, click here or contact Maria Alderson.

+Adult Confirmation Program - Closely related to the RCIA program is the Adult Confirmation Program, which prepares adult Catholics who were not confirmed in high school to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. +Koinonia College Student Retreats - Two weekend retreats are offered each academic year. For more information about the retreat program, click here for the registration form or contact Msgr. Glenn Nelson.

+Women's Spirituality - A group is available for discussing, in a supportive environment, issues and areas in the spiritual life that are of particular concern for women. For more information about this group, contact Laura Bird. Click here to view pictures from a recent Women's Retreat.

+Religious Studies - Each semester, both credit and non-credit courses are taught at Newman. Check the bulletin or call the Newman office for this semester’s course offerings, or click here for more information.

+Faith Enrichment - All college students are welcome to join us every Wednesday evening during the NIU school year from 7:30 to 9 p.m. for faith sharing. Monsignor Nelson, Fr. Godwin and Fr. del Toro will lead the discussion on various Catholic topics. An excellent opportunity for student fellowship each week!

+Wednesday Night Student Mass - Every Wednesday Night students are invited to Newman for a mid-week Mass at 9:00 p.m. Students in the past have found this to be a great mid week gathering and a chance to refocus their week on serving Christ while being a college student! Don't miss out!

+College Student Bible Study - Join us for College Student Bible Study on periodic Monday nights during the NIU school year. All college students welcome...no Scripture knowledge required!
