Dear Parents/Guardians:
Thank you for supporting our Religious Education program through
another academic year. I hope that you are all enjoying a happy,
healthy and safe summer. Even though the calendar says summer, I’m
hoping warmer days are coming.
As you are all aware, we said goodbye to Dr. Laura Bird as our
Director of Religious Education. She is not leaving us totally,
she will remain working here in her deanery position. Be sure to
say hello when you see her.
Along with that change, we also welcome two new staff members.
Kathy Love will be my assistant. We taught together in the third
grade classroom and I truly look forward to working with her in
this capacity. Also, Kelsey Borg will be our new Junior High Youth
Minister. She brings her faith, joy and love of children to this
position and I encourage all families with 6th, 7th and 8th grade
students to get involved for a wonderful year of fun and faith.
We are gearing up for the fall semester of Religious Education and
will have complete schedules ready in September. We are sending
registration forms early so that you can secure your child’s place
in the program. As you know, we are extremely pressed for space,
so we try to limit enrollment. It is therefore important that we
receive your registration as soon as possible.
We ask that you enclose some portion of the tuition owed with
registration. You may spread payments out to suit your budget. You
may also request scholarship aid; a written request should
accompany the form. Catechists and assistants are charged
half-tuition.
I look forward to seeing you all at our first session which will
be the Sunday after Labor Day (September 13th). As usual, we will
meet as a community in the Knox Room at 9:00am. Please put this
date and time on your calendar now.
