| The mission of the Alumni and Development Office is to support, educate, publicize, and, most importantly, to assist in providing financial resources for the campus ministry program here at the Newman Center. |
In order to provide this financial assistance, it is important for us to form a strong faith relationship with our current students so that, after they graduate, this faith relationship will then (we hope!) translate into a donor relationship.
The goals of the Alumni and Development Office are carried out with our alumni by means of appeal letters, spiritual and other gatherings, and Newman Now, our alumni newsletter. All of these vehicles support Catholic ideals and beliefs.
While the overall goal of the Alumni and Development Office is to finance campus ministry, we also support parish activities by educating local parishioners and friends in DeKalb and the surrounding communities by press releases and other information resources.
Please feel free to contact
Sue Vaughn if you would like to help financially support Newman's efforts to provide the services and activities that are important to the spiritual growth and development of our students and our faith community. |
History of Newman So how did this Newman Center come to be? What was the Newman Hilton? And how was ice cream involved? Discover the historical roots of NIU's Newman Center through this informative virtual tour.
We like to hear from our alumni, and keep in contact with them, and we'd also like to help alumni keep in contact with each other. Click here to fill out our form to update us on how and where you are. If you fill out the e-mail line and check the box that gives us permission to post your email on our Alumni page, we will do so for other alumni to contact you directly. We will try to update this listing monthly and group it by year graduated from NIU.
